Be a Unicorn

It’s a rare occurrence to find such passion in one’s work, enough that they never feel like “working”. If you are one of the few unicorns out there who have, bravo! If not, it’s not too late. Think of your life like a shooting star. It’s beautiful and magnificent. But it only lasts a short while. So stop, look up, reach for the stars, and whatever your dream job would be, do it.

I write this blog mostly on hair and makeup because that is what I am passionate about. Every day I get to be creative. Every day I change someone’s life. Every day I combine art with work to make my own paycheck. Yes! I am that unicorn.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of doing hair. But, 90% of hairstylists will say the same thing. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being successful. My dream only grew to include making a small footprint in each person I touched’s sand, to make them feel beautiful both inside and out, to broaden their own horizons to be the best versions of themselves.

I could not ask for a better career. Each day I get to go to work and be with family. Each day, I get to create art. And each day, I grow. Not only do I grow financially, that’s just a material bonus, but my guests and my coworkers have made their own footprints in my sand. They have touched my heart and have made me more beautiful on the inside. They are who have allowed me to become the best version of my own self.

To you out their struggling to find your own, take the time to really find what you love. Don’t just worry about the money. We can’t take it with us. But, guaranteed if you are passionate about something, nothing but good can come from it. Your heart will be full and your life fulfilled. So ride or fly…whatever unicorns do… And get out there already and be bat shit passionate about something. Us unicorns are becoming extint. Just believe.

Happy Unicorn-ing!
